Our progress

There is a very large, what sometimes feels insurmountable amount of work to do before we are ready to open. We will use this page not only for you to see what we are up but to keep ourselves motivated that we are getting somewhere. If we get lucky enough for donations or grants you will be able to see here where your generosity is going.

Project One - The Dinyard (aka the lunch area)

In the summer of 2024 when Lou was first thinking up the community interest company she challenged herself to build a multifunctional outdoor dining/event space in a derelict outhouse area by the barn built entirely from waste and leftovers. Over 10 weeks The Dinyard slowly formed, the total build cost came in at £230 for everything, including cushions, building materials, pizza oven’s etc.

The majority of the build was created from;

  • Old picnic benches that a company at the airport were giving away.

  • All her friends left over tiles from house renovations (thanks gang).

  • Free timber from skip diving.

  • Cheap as chips BBQ’s, pizza ovens etc from Facebook marketplace that all needed a lick and spit.

  • Concrete yard with partial stone walls, opening to grassy area, under cloudy sky.
